Emergency Exit Arts presents Blackfriars Stories: Waves of Wonder - an incredible procession led by a giant mechanical turtle, weaving its way through the streets of Southwark and culminating in Mint Street Park for a family disco finale! Free festive fun for all the family.

The parade on Friday 6 December starts at 4.30pm, Peabody Square, Blackfriars Estate, Southwark SW1 8HU. The family disco finishes at Mint Street Park at 7.30pm.

This event is supported by the Illuminated River Foundation Community Fund.

There will also be a series of free lantern making workshops in the lead up to the event, open to all ages and abilities. The workshops will produce glowing lanterns inspired by the first four bridges of Illuminated River (London, Cannon Street, Southwark and Millennium), which will eventually become the guiding lights of the parade. No advance booking is required.  The workshops will take place at the following times:
